About us

"The latest Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) labour statistics report for the 2023 third quarter revealed that more than 1.8 million Ghanaians are unemployed. This number indicated a 14.7% unemployment rate in the third quarter of the year, the report stated. This staggering figure revealed by the GSS represents an increment of about 74,734 more persons entering the unemployed pool from the second quarter. By sex, the report indicated a widening gap between males and females with women having an unemployment rate almost twice that of men.

This indicates the growing need for female empowerment in order to achieve SDG goal five which translates into achieving gender equality and empowering all women and girls by 2030. The regional breakdown of the unemployment rates shows high rates in the Southern and Western parts of Ghana. The Greater Accra led with 25.7% followed by the Western and Ashanti Regions with 16.80% and 16.4% respectively.

With over 1.8 million Ghanaians currently unemployed, the nation grapples with a staggering 14.7% unemployment rate. While this influx signifies potential economic growth, it also underscores the challenge of ensuring meaningful employment for all. Alarmingly, only a fraction of these new entrants secured employment opportunities, leaving the majority stranded in the cycle of unemployment. To bridge this gap, innovative solutions are needed." - myjoyonline.com

'Work While Schooling' initiative is empowered by concerned youths globally who want to assist as many youths they could before, during tertiary education and after graduation. We partner with high school and tertiary students to engage in medium trades to assist them gain profit(s) in financing their schooling and dreams.

We want to use this ‘WorkWhileSchooling' and other future initiatives as platforms to inculcate entrepreneurship into students who struggle financially during tertiary school and many who for some legitimate reasons end up finding themselves not been able to practice what they’ve schooled for after graduation, being a participant serves as an entrepreneurship leverage for the many tertiary students who perform well but find their employment not ever been actualized. We want to collectively be each other’s’ keeper discouraging the spirit of individual pursuit of success which is causing much harm to our generation, nothing great has been achieved with the annual enrollments of hundred thousands of tertiary students into university institutions without the platform to fund such graduates after several ideas have been pumped into their heads.

Realistically, unless a radical, unusual, unfamiliar, exceptional and different approach to fighting the surging unemployment epidemic affecting the youth is taken, we will forever be the victims of the suffering of all. This we hope to change in our own small way with the ‘WorkWhileSchooling' initiative this 2024 year.

JHS & SHS Students

Tackling unemployment head on starts from our junior years where some outstanding youths harbour brilliant ideas that need not wait until they complete tertiary school to execute, they could be assisted to nurture and develop these wonderful ideas in their own small capacity in anticipation of expansion when they are done with JHS or SHS schooling. The 'Work While Schooling' initiative seeks not to distract JHS and SHS students from their school studies but to empower them aspire for a more realistic future goals.

As of March 2020, a total of 404,856 students were enrolled under the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy in Ghana, this signals that every year in Ghana we have an average 400,000 students from the JHS and SHS schools joining the race to be employed. The 'Work While Schooling' initiative will foster the desire in youths to be 'creators' and not 'waiters', they will be inspired to be entrepreneurs as a side job even when pursuing school or waiting on a regular salaried job. Vocational training and life skills given to JHS and SHS students earlier on in life support stable employment, parents and guardians will be responsible for making sure our donated funds are used specifically for its intended purpose as failure to honor our request will permanently result in your child's termination from any benefit whatsoever from our initiatives. Each student stands to benefit between GH1,000 to GH2,000 cedis to support any entrepreneural endeavor they might be pursuing.

Our support ensures vulnerable youth, especially young women, are able to engage in decent work of their own choice with enhanced skills and resilience for making the most of the changing work environment while schooling subject to their parents' or guardian's approval. To help students apply the knowledge they learned to real-world settings, the 'Work While Schooling' initiative will guide adolescents to carry out independent activities under the coaching of their parents and guardians. It will turn their knowledge into actions and turn them into active and responsible members of their families, schools and communities even ahead of tertiary education.

Potential student beneficiaries will be required to just subscribe to our youtube channel 'WORKWHILESCHOOLING' and be regular viewers of not less than 50% of contents posted on the youtube channel, students from the JHS & SHS level will be randomly selected to present an outstanding idea in a short recorded video, the short recorded video should clearly show the face of the teenager explaining his or her idea and an added confirmation video by the parents' or guardian's face in the video as well after which the student's parent or guardian will be contacted for consent ahead of correspondence with the student. Only teenagers upwards (ages 13-30) qualify to be supported on our 'WORKWHILESCHOOLING' youtube channel. However non-teenagers could suscribe as they wait to turn teenagers, preference will be given such ones who suscribed earlier ahead of becoming teenagers.
